President Eng. Tami Mpala
Eng. Mpala is a registered, professional civil engineer with 22 years’ post graduate experience in the infrastructural engineering field. His specialization within the civil engineering discipline is focused strongly on water supply systems, water and wastewater treatment, hydraulics and water resources management. Eng. Tamsanqa Mpala is the Managing Partner of Hydro-Utilities Consulting Engineers (Pvt) Ltd, a post he has held since 2012.
Immediate Past President Eng. Godknows Mhonde
He is the Managing Director of CGM Consulting Engineers, and Executive Director of ZESA Holdings. He is a holder of the following professional qualifications: Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical and Production Engineering; Masters in Business Leadership; Fellow of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers; Professional Engineer, registered with the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe, Member of the South African Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning; Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers and a Member of the Zimbabwe Association of Consulting Engineers. He serves in several boards as a non- Executive Director.
Deputy President Eng. Farai Mavhiya-Bhiza
She is currently the Chairperson of Women in Engineering and a ZIE fellow. Also she is the outgoing Chairperson of the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe which regulates and governs the Engineering Profession in Zimbabwe. Eng Farai has also served on the ZESA Holdings Board as a non-Executive director and the Higher Education Examinations Council (HEXCO). Currently she sits on the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) board as the Deputy Chair and the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) Board as the Chairman. also a member of the Professional Women Executives in Business (PROWEB).
Senior Vice President Dr Eng. William Goriwondo
He has a proven track record of technical, engineering, operational and strategic leadership, spanning for over 24 years in industry, academia and consultancy. He has worked for BP and Shell Marketing Services as Plant Engineer, Senior Engineer and Engineering Services Manager. He also held leadership positions in Continuous Improvement Management, Health Safety and Environmental Management. Dr Goriwondo also worked for Turnall Fiber Cement as Production Manager, a post he held before leaving industry for academia to join the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) as a lecturer. Dr Eng Goriwondo was promoted to Senior Lecturer, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and currently the Pro-Vice Chancellor responsible for Innovation and Business Development. He is a Member of the Institute of Directors Zimbabwe (IoDZ),
Vice President Dr Eng. Tammy Stevenson
She is a Manufacturing and Production Factory Manager at Mitek Zimbabwe specializing in sheet metal forming. Dr Eng. Stevenson is experienced in engineering design, production planning and control, maintenance management, and project management. Dr Tammy is a Mechanical Engineer with more than 20 years of experience.
Treasurer Eng. Mavellas Sibanda
He is a chartered Mechanical Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer with over 30 years of extensive experience in the manufacturing sector; where he held various positions from Mechanical Engineer, Engineering Manager, General Manager, Operations Director and Non-Executive Director of Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.
C.E.O Dr Eng. Sanzan Diarra
He is an Engineering Emeritus and a seasoned Mediator and Arbitrator. Dr Diarra is a Member of ZIMCODE 2 Governance of Disputes and Business Failures Thematic Committee, Practitioner in Corporate Governance, Anti-Corruption Systems, Transparency and Work Ethics and the Chief Project Coordinator of the Technical Working Committee for the review of the Zimbabwe Model Building By-Laws.
Corporate Members Representative Dr Eng. Mercy Manyuchi
She is the Chief Director for Mining Development in the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, Zimbabwe, responsible for Mining Promotion and Investments in Energy Minerals, Non Energy Minerals, Research and Minerals Value Addition and Beneficiation. Dr Manyuchi is also the Vice Chairperson for Women in Engineering in Zimbabwe. She is also a ZIE fellow.
Corporate Members Representative Eng. Simukai Matshalaga
Eng. Matshalaga is currently the Operations Manager at Primson Management Services, a Pan African Consulting Firm conducting research, evaluation and project management to the development community, inclusive of the United Nations Specialised Agencies, SADC, African Union and other non-Governmental Organisations. . She represents the young tech-savvy, new generation of engineers providing innovative connected solutions in our new virtual era.
Corporate Members Representative Eng. Albert Muchena
He has more than 25 years of engineering experience in the construction industry and on the final year in Master’s Degree in Construction Project Management. Currently Eng. Muchena is working for the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development under department of roads in charge of roads construction projects, including Harare- Masvingo-Beitbridge project. He is corporate member of ZIE. He has worked for both private and public institutions.
Representing Research Institutions Eng. Tino Zvavashe
He is the Director of the Energy Technology Institute (ETI) at the Scientific and Industrial Research and Development Centre (SIRDC). He also spearheads in provision of solutions on Renewable and Alternative Energy, Conventional Energy, Fuels, Energy Management and Training. He is actively involved in standards development with SAZ as a member of various technical committees and a technical committee member under the National Solar Water Heating Programme. Also his passionate about commercial solar PV Project Management, Design and Development of energy generating and power conditioning systems, embedded development including data acquisition systems, IoT and wireless sensor networks.
Representing Polytechnics Eng. Washington Chandiwana
He is the current Principal of Gweru Polytechnic, having been promoted to the post in July 2010. Eng. Chandiwana has over 32 years’ experience in technical and vocational education and training having started as a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at Bulawayo Polytechnic where he rose through the ranks to the position of Head of the Division of Electrical & Electronic Engineering before being promoted to the post of Vice Principal at Gweru Polytechnic. Eng. Chandiwana chairs the Higher Education Examinations Council (HEXCO) Midlands South Regional Committee, the Midlands Integrated Skills Outreach Programme (ISOP).
